Clark Weekend 2008!
September 12—13, 2008
“The Great (Clark) Society”
Friday, September 12, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.
Brown-Lupton University Union Ballroom
Join us for a star-spangled evening in the brand-new Brown-Lupton University Union! You’ll have the freedom to sample all-American fare and enjoy the musical styling of Trey and the Tritones—featured in Fort Worth, Texas magazine’s “Best of 2008” issue. Then take a tour of the Union, mingle with presidential look-alikes and pose for your own political cartoon caricature! Also, be sure to cast a ballot for your favorite silent auction items and support our key constituency—the recently endowed Clark Society Scholarship.
“The State of the Frog”
Saturday, September 13, 2008 at 9:30 a.m.
Brown-Lupton University Union
Dutch Meyer Athletic Complex & Abe Martin Academic Enhancement Center
We hold these truths to be self-evident that all Horned Frogs are civic-minded individuals. For this reason, we’ve issued security clearance for you to experience breakfast as a student in the new Main and a private “fireside chat” with TCU political science professor Dr. Jim Riddlesperger, who will provide a non-partisan briefing on the current political landscape. An expert on the U.S. presidency, Riddlesperger will be joined on the 2nd floor of the new Brown-Lupton University Union by a “purple ribbon panel” of TCU students. Then we’ll walk across the street to tour the new Dutch Meyer Athletic Complex & Abe Martin Academic Enhancement Center suites and club seats! Bring your questions along with an open mind. Remember, elephants and donkeys will be left at the door … only Frogs are admitted!
“The PreGame Campaign”
Saturday, September 13, 2008 at 4:00 p.m.
Dee J. Kelly Alumni & Visitors Center
No serious celebration is complete without fireworks, and this afternoon’s event is sure to deliver. Come get fired up to watch your TCU Horned Frog football team wage a hotly contested campaign against the Stanford Cardinal! We’ll once again partner with ISP—TCU Athletics exclusive multimedia rights holder—and Park Place Mercedes to rally behind the Frogs at the Dee J. Kelly Alumni & Visitors Center. Come hear some “chalk talk” from John Denton, the TCU-ISP Sports “Senator,” along with “campaign staffers” including the TCU cheerleaders and band!
6:00 p.m. Game time! There’s sure to be "fireworks" on the field!
